HGV Training Prices
Starting a new job always requires you to go through training. The type of training and the cost of that training will be determined by the type of job. In an HGV position you do have to go through training. You may go through the training before you even look for a position or you may find a company that is willing to pay for it. In most instances you have to get your training to be an HGV driver before you even find a job. There are also new regulations being put in place for CPC training. All drivers will have to go through the training by 2014 and then again every five years. The government is trying to make the roads safer for those who travel on them including drivers.
Given that you may not have a job before you need training it can be a bit difficult to afford the training, especially if you have been out of work or never worked before. Luckily there are products out there that can help you with the costs. You can finance your HGV training with a loan if you wish to. A lot of HGV training prices are over 1000 GBP. It is possible to get a student loan for the amount you need. Once you get a job in the industry it will be fairly easy for you to start paying back the loan. You do have to have a good credit history which can be an issue for some. It is also helpful to have any credit history for a loan. You probably won’t qualify for regular student loans with HGV training because it is not a part of an accredited university and instead is a trade school. This is why your credit history can be very important to getting a loan.
To give you an idea of prices for certain courses you may see the HGV Cat C without the CPC training at 1050-1375 GBP. The HGV Cat C with CPC is going to be 1375 to 1600 GBP. As you can see the prices are dependent on a couple of things. You will probably need CPC training if you have not gone through it separately or been a driver before. It will also depend on where you go for the training as to how much you may have to pay for the training to become an HGV driver.
