Saving Gas

One way that the vehicle manufacturer is to contribute to improving the fuel efficiency of the use of advanced technologies such as cylinder deactivation. In this technique, your V6 and V8-powered car uses only half the cylinders when you cruise on the highway.

Since your vehicle does not need the full power when operating in cruise mode, the cylinders are temporarily placed “online”, but even if the accelerator pedal pressed. Computer, ensure your car engine, that the required performance on request.

If the technology does not appear anything heard before.

Back in early 1980′s GM in vain tried cylinder deactivation to Cadillac, by what you take away the time, the “8-6-4.” Unfortunately, computer technology has not advanced as it is now, and the experiment failed, according to GM to buy thousands of cars. In these days, thanks to the advanced integrated circuits treatment units, cylinder deactivation is live and used by many manufacturers. In most applications, sensors with the engine shut down half its cylinders, a move that reduces gas consumption. Despite the gains, the average area of 6-8%, a universal application of the technology, our dependence on foreign oil, while companies can reduce an increase in the average fuel economy (Cafe) industry.

For the last five years is given in GM Active Fuel Management found [AFM] for more V8 engines and the technology now is the way to power V6 Chevrolet Impala and other models. Honda has its own Variable Cylinder Management [VCM or] to select the Odyssey’s V6 engine powered, compact and pilots. Ford, Chrysler, Mercedes, Toyota, BMW, Nissan and other car manufacturers including cylinder deactivation and more manufacturers are jumping you have to wait until the technology is finally a four-cylinder cars that are currently so that the machines on two cylinders.
